I received my first art award in the third grade. It was a colored pencil
drawing involving Godzilla, tanks, jet airplanes and the fight for human survival, if I remember correctly. Actually, when I drew the picture, it
was probably all about Godzilla, it took me awhile to incorporate symbolism into my art. |

I went to college to study architecture. I could design a beautiful building
but that engineering class about the strengths of materials made me reconsider my major. I graduated with a degree in Marketing. The design
principles stayed with me and I incorporated the "golden rules" of classic architecture into my artwork. The business background helps me
understand the "functional" side of art; advertising. |

After college I worked in the investment business. It was the rational thing
to do from a financial standpoint. But from a satisfaction standpoint it left me wanting and after a few years I ran away to Japan. There I taught English,
securities, marketing and creative thinking at over forty corporations. The culture and philosophy of the East worked its way into my art and the experience made me
reconsider my priorities. |

Returning to the States I moved to the country. I desired the
simplicity and pace of a rural lifestyle. It worked out well. I turned dreams into reality. |

The one common denominator in my life has been art. Beyond each
position’s daylight hours were nights and weekends spent nurturing my creative talent. What began with crayons grew to include pencils and
eventually paint. These traditional tools are now augmented and enhanced with a keyboard and mouse. |
